Yeah, really the standard is double and so much lower for what people are willing to put with without applying 'mary sue' to male characters. Even the gendered nature of the term itself, and its origins being in young women's fan fiction, muddies the term and its effectiveness as a critique.

This is ahistoric bullshit. Kamala lost because she ran a dogshite centrist compain that floundered to court moderate conservatives who were never gonna vote for her in a million years, was weak on human rights, and eased up on her opponent at a critical moment.

Honestly I feel like this is more cultural than natural. It's a basic tenet of capitalism that everything has a proportional cost in labor, one that is often accepted uncritically.

I find with the premise that 'social tendency' is human nature, then every other bizarre quirk of society follows.
