The absolute disconnect of a class of rich political commentators from the reality of America should be studied.

Ezra Klein who has been famously wrong about nearly everything over the last 5 years does not deserve a years salary for a talk.

I’m personally thankful for President Harris.

Sorry, what’s that?
It’s good Kamala Harris spent her money campaigning and not doing mutual aid! Generally we need candidates to try to win!
Kamala Harris literally wasted a billion and a half dollars but sure, okay, Kat Abughazaleh's way of doing things is the problem. Okay.

A small (personal) example of this book’s intellectual dishonesty:

My father-in-law is reading In Covid’s Wake, and excitedly told me he found a passage where I’m quoted. The quote in question is me saying the FBI worked to censor speech on social media.

Huh? When did I say that?!

SCOOP: @repdangoldman.bsky.social received a letter from DHS Secretary Kristi Noem outlining an investigation into an ICE officer put on leave after pushing a woman to the ground.

But the letter raises questions about how DHS investigates employee misconduct. www.npr.org/2025/12/24/n...

There are many kinds of evil. Weiss is a particularly distasteful kind.
The full Weiss memo is dogshit
-who cares if administration figures “regret” sending people to CECOT
-who cares about the criminal histories of the people we sent to CECOT, we sent them to a torture prison
—who cares about the “debate” over the legality of sending people to a torture prison

“And, they added, most Americans eat out, have smartphones and take flights, unimaginable luxuries generations ago.”

It’s just the “poors have more refrigerators” argument again.
Americans in their 20s and 30s may not feel that they’re richer than their equivalents 60 years ago, but they’re objectively wrong.

It’s fascinating how important it is to some people not to say “I’m struggling, it’s hard” or “I need help”—objectively true—but to instead insist they have it worse.
