Photo not representative of the weather but we’re all a lot less stressed since we changed our courier service to An Post. It’s saved us hours per week in phone calls. My colleagues are in a happier place and all our deliveries are now done in electric vans including ones we do ourselves!

I plan to read a lot more in 2026. Read my first Jon Fosse novel toward end of last year. Loved it but hard to put into works why. Picked up another of his books and @ronanhession.bsky.social puts it perfectly.

Put a basketball hoop and backboard up in the roastery yard. Productivity nether increased nor went down. We have however all gotten better at basketball.

Saw this photo in 2019. It's from a Colombian co-op we buy coffee from. Shows kids crossing a river by tree trunk to get to school. My kids were about same age at time and brought home fluke of birth to me. We funded a bridge here and have done 3 more since. 1% of all our sales are committed to this

This is the third v60 I’ve bought over the space of about 17 years. I’d take this plastic cone that costs under €10 over an espresso machine costing thousands every day of the week.

This is my 6th year posting this same message. Black Friday is a nonsense with often pretend discounts on stuff you probably don’t need. We’ll do as we always do at this time and increase the 1% of all income we give to Women’s Aid to 10% on web sales over the weekend. Fuck Black Friday. #speirgorm

Was out of work 17 years ago, watched a documentary about coffee farmers and trade unions and decided to start a coffee business. It was a big struggle for a long time. Really grateful we got mentioned yesterday in Irish Times 50 great brands. Never underestimate timing, dumb luck and persistence.
