'I think it's very scary'

"You would think the Insurrection Act would be to prevent an insurrection, but in this instance, you have an insurrectionist who's experienced [and] probably likely to use that act to cause an insurrection." Ty Cobb, @11thhourmsnbc.bsky.social

Just watched a very sobering interview with Ty Cobb, former Trump WH attorney, on the 11th Hour/MSNBC. The man knows who Trump really is, and he is clearly very worried.

Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.

It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

Presidents have federalized a state's own Guard to use over its objection, most famously desegregation. And sometimes regular military has been used. But taking one state's soldiers and putting them in another state? This is a completely unprecedented breakdown of what the Union fundamentally is.

“I think today she achieved one thing. She knocked John Mitchell off the perch of reprehensible attorney general as number one, despite his guilty plea and time in jail.” ~ Ty Cobb, former Trump White House attorney 🔥

I love how Miller very clearly pretends that his connection freezes after realizing that he said the quiet part out loud.

What a complete dufus.

"House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., forcefully pushed back against Greene's argument, saying she isn’t informed on the topic."

Does the Speaker have a daily quota for misogynistic comments about female congresswomen?

Meanwhile, new respect for MTG. Good report.

"The lines between revenue and equity are blurring among a small group of highly influential technology companies, to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars...the gap between the Tech sector’s share of market cap and net income has widened significantly since late 2022."

This is repugnant behavior by Speaker Johnson and brings to mind a scene from The Wizard of Oz: "I've been dying to tell you what I thought of you, and now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it!"

The clip came from a YouTube user named aheartforgod. Huh.

Ugh.

“'It’s all tied to the fundamental race to intimacy that we’re seeing in the A.I. industry,' said Camille Carlton, the policy director at the Center for Humane Technology... 'These companies know that emotional attachment means more engagement and more market share.'”

Fascinating piece, and I LOVE the visual storytelling.

My favorite personal uses of AI so far have been grouping my container garden plants (according to sun and water preferences and compatibility) and designing the 4'x8' (!) pantry in my soon-to-be new home. 🤩

My right-wing uncle is driving down to Indy on Wednesday from the northern Chicago suburbs. I'm going to try to resist welcoming him with, "Well, I certainly hope you drove around - instead of through - the city to get here. I understand it's worse than Afghanistan." 😏

As an actual conservative, I believe that it should be entirely up to local communities how they want to paint their crosswalks.

AI "will develop amoral strategies that are the best way to accomplish a goal."

Tonight's @thedailyshow.com interview with Tristan Harris, co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology, was insane and terrifying.

Worth your time.

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.
