I drove around this weekend and did my thing - I dropped off copies of my new book Unbound: Lost On Shelf in Little Free Libraries throughout NE Ohio! And as of today, you can snag a copy for yourself here: inkwits.bigcartel.com/product/unbo...
Today I taught you about "goat yoga" against your will. Yes, it's real. You're welcome. #comics

Here's my strip for the @peanutscollab.bsky.social redraw project! Happy 75th anniversary, Charlie Brown! This is the strip that originally ran on February 15th 1991 - my birthday! Shouts out to @waggtoon.bsky.social for putting this together! I had a blast with the lettering.

Tom Racine doesn't appear to be here on Bluesky, but we got his new book of Tolkien cartoons! These are phenomenal. Little Edward Gorey-like illustrations accompanied by a ton of wit!

Finished page from THE DISSIDENTS. I'm putting the last touches on this bad boy. It'll be in the can by Thanksgiving! What a relief.

Out in Fall 2026, y'all.

Your task today is to go listen to more Mint Jams.

I just got back from the theatrical showing of Angel's Egg. I feel spoiled seeing what was once an obscure OVA on the big screen. It's as weird and interesting as I ever remember.

These mint jams are the only salve that will heal my wounded soul.

You're telling me all those ugly, chunky back sprites were a conscientious artistic decision? I always wondered about those. I also thought it made Blastoise look like he had a beak.

Excuse me as I, once again, turn to dust...
Bill Watterson’s “Calvin and Hobbes” first appeared 40 years ago, on November 18, 1985. Here’s the first week of dailies:

I went for an insanely productive walk the other day in the creepy old woods while listening to this album. Now I'm frustrated! It gave me a great idea for a short story that's almost completely fleshed out and I barely have time to thumbnail it out right now! Gah!

One of the best lectures on comic book lettering I've ever seen. I had the pleasure of being in the audience for this.

An addendum to this - this is *not* a license to make ugly balloons/lettering! (I'm looking at you, ellipse tool people!) There's still a visual art component to the puzzle you have to solve!
Yes. This. Plan your lettering out with your paneling. Your word balloons are a graphic design element first and an artistic choice second.
Everyone should do their lettering at the layouts phase.

If the balloons are breaking the borders, you're doing it wrong. I have to do my letters at the layout phase, before even rough pencils, because if I don't there is absolutely not going to be enough room for the balloons
