"Kind of Slime" - (Graham Linehan, 17.08.23)

"waste of a good user name" - some random trolling me

"the verse is too dangerous to share with the public" is also genuinely the premise of a monty python sketch.

where a series of words are considered so dangerous they are deemed unsuitable for humanity....

it is a very odd thing to say " we cannot do this" when the information on how to do so has been easily available to the public since 1979 & even then it was compiled from publicly available sources

hiding poetry? googling "the progressive" "1179.pdf" will do it.

i stole it from your post - that is from this year.

this is, of course, where i discover that apparently Mark Felton did actually write a story for commando, in issue 3277 in 1999, entitled "time to fight"

its a sunday afternoon, so its time to watch the "jolly ho weren't we great in world war 2 this definitely won't fuck up our cultural narrative or national self image with revisionist nostalgia" channel for WHERE EAGLES DARE.

the sort of movies where "based on a book" means a back issue of COMMANDO

oh that name is a good one.

the idea that being on benefits automatically equals "you are rolling in cash, on easy street, a scrounger" is a very toxic narrative.

im glad your relationship got better, mine didn't :-(

it does amaze me - and not in a good way - that many treat their children (and other family members) as property, something that have to still supervise.

even after adulthood, after they move out, after they have their own lives

treating children as an extension of their own selves is v unhealthy

my tone was more along the lines of "the daily mail is full of sh**",but my income on benefits is less than £10k pa

admittedly , the rent i pay goes direct from uc to the council (which would add another £5k)& i live an extremely frugal life - but the redtops war on ppl on benefits is ceaseless

but hey, you do you. I cba with your obsession with tiny details because snyder's work doesn't fit your particular head canon.
November 30, 2025 at 3:50 PM
compromise themselves (ie the death of rorscach) in order for a more peaceful world.

that power escapes justice, heroes or not. (ozymandias, again).

focusing on the micro-details you overlook the bigger picture.

the same theme can be seen in moore's tom strong work.
November 30, 2025 at 3:49 PM
then you've missed the point of the entire story.

the entire story is not what you think it is ; it is a deconstruction of superhero tropes, and a narrative about how those with power enforce their will on the world by manipulating it (the new york event).

and how those who can tell the truth

wtaf you going on about man?

my point is "it is a good film" ,despite - not because - of snyder. it being a good film has nothing to do with Zack snyder. that has everything to do with it being so adherent to the original work.

Zack snyder is a talentless hack, a pox on cinema.
