Very true!

These two books would be a great starting point for science undergraduate student discussion seminars.

I wish I had been introduced to such ideas when I was doing my BSc.

This is beyond shocking - how can this be allowed to happen? Why on earth can’t they be released on bail? They have a right to a fair trial, appropriate medical treatment, & the removal of punitive Prison Service conditions. Govt’s ban on Palestine Action is simply intolerable

Horrors. That library was my home from home in my youth.
Reform UK Councillor John Baker threatened legal action when we said Reform UK’s Kent Council was selling the historic Folkestone Library building in Grace Hill.

They had promised to keep it open.

Well guess what? They’ve now sold it:

This should be the response from all European politicians - Spain’s @monicagarciag.bsky.social is setting out the principles that should guide us, plain and simple.
Un ataque militar unilateral para vulnerar la soberanía de un país es injustificable, sea en Palestina, Ucrania o Venezuela. Hay que volver urgentemente al derecho internacional y a un mundo basado en reglas, diálogo y cooperación.

Highly recommended if you're comfortable with a bit of math & physics but didn't study them past high school.

A lovely, rich essay by Amia Srinivasan: on listening as political action

"I find it striking how few thinkers propose to bring psychoanalysis into politics as a technical craft (the ‘talking cure’) that might make us more effective political agents"
‘The real question is whether psychoanalysis can liberate us, not just from the violent divisions of our individual psyches, but from the violent divisions and resulting despair of our political moment.’
