Trump is cutting funding that helps end homelessness.

And now, over 170,000 people are at risk of being pushed out of homes and back onto the streets.

We’re in a housing crisis.

The solution isn’t kicking people out of their homes – it’s building more housing.

When an insurance company is deciding whether to pay for your medical treatment, it generates a file, which should contain all records associated with your case, including documents explaining why the claim was denied.

You have a right to see this file.

For every 100 households under the poverty line, there are only 34 housing units available in their price range.

This is from the 2024 @nlihc.org annual gap report.

Infinitely growing housing values causes homelessness. It's not sustainable.

I love em dashes. :(
It’s absolutely insane to me that em dashes have generally been a favorite tool of writers since forever, but because tech companies stole the collective works of writers for their shitty AI programs, the presence of an em dash is now considered a red flag that AI was used to write something.

The question is interesting, as the question could be restated whether there is a combination of projects that could produce the same number of jobs.

It is difficult to answer, but it would be interesting to ask what could have been built on the 290 acre site if Pima County put out an RFP first.

Do people have the right to be homeless in public spaces? It’s a tough conversation, but here’s the truth: when we shift the argument from a right to housing to a right to homelessness, we lose public support.

Eliminating the Continuum of Care and defunding all permanent supportive housing would be almost unthinkably devastating. It would put hundreds of thousands of people who qualify for a high level of care back onto the streets. This is a 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 emergency.

Do you want to know what the #1 solution to homelessness is?

It's housing. You can't be unhoused in housing.

Trump's budget eliminates permanent supportive housing (PSH). There are over 350,000 households in PSH.

Trump's budget proposal cuts all funding for housing for homelessness (CoC), instead focusing only on shelter (ESG) while additionally gutting public housing funding and capping all public housing assistance to two years. The budget also destroys funds used to build affordable housing.
