I hate getting gifts. They are ALWAYS shit. I’m very clear I don’t want gifts. I give them. I’m careful about their value to not burden people. But will people respect my boundary? No. Told my partner repeatedly. He ignored it. I now have another coffee mug I don’t need. Decided against family Xmas

But the tombs didn’t actually have any danger in them. It was just superstition. Toxic stuff is a little different.
I think it's funny how much time and effort we spend trying to create warnings for future civilizations about radioactive waste dumps, as if any of us actually heeded the warnings on ancient tombs. Humans do not heed warnings unless deeply tied to religious dogma. And even then!

My friend is going through colon cancer. He is one of many from our university. We lost two in our year to this awful cancer. Several have had to have major surgery. Please don’t ignore the symptoms.

I have to say, I’m getting a little bit anxious for Christmas. I’ve been with my partner about six months. I’ve known him a year. We agreed that we would give small gifts. I’m not so concerned about what I got him. I’m more concerned about what he’s going to give me. I’m not good at this stuff.
