Over 4 years, she has shown that she has not gotten a grasp of how council functions, and she was abusive to her staff. That alone is unacceptable, regardless of my alignment or lack thereof in values.

I want to tell Darren that he’s wrong, that it was never equivalent. He always gave so much more, at a capacity and with an earnestness that was unmatched. I don’t think I could ever reach his level, but I’ll try my best and remember his requests for us:

This person, an ICU doctor with a family and a wide net of influence, was able to do things for ME, not the other way around. And then (presumptively) I hear him in the corner of my mind, saying that “we did these things for each other, Serena.” Sure, pal.

I’m not writing this for anyone else, because as I said at the beginning, everything’s been said. No one will ever question how great Darren was. No one needs to know or truly cares about my individual interactions with him, but I treasure everything he has done for me.

Deep down, we both knew that he would scoff and say "that's ridiculous, of course we're friends". Maybe it's the imposter syndrome, when many wished they got to meet him because his stories and posts resonated with them. It feels like a privilege to have known him personally.

More than enough people have talked about the impact that Darren has made in so many aspects of our city and in the digital space of the internet.
I said to a friend that I didn't want to overstep nor think we were that close simply because I knew him from a coffee hangout on Friday mornings. 1/

I'm just mad at myself because I must have "submitted" the form and maybe got timed out, or accidentally cleared it. It was my fault and negligence.

It was for a local market and it's not the end of the world. It'll give us time to keep working on it and make a more developed project to pitch. My friend has been so awesome and understanding and telling that there will be numerous opportunities for us to show our stuff.
