When public media disappears, so do the stories that bring us together.

With federal funding eliminated, millions may lose their last trusted source of news and connection.

Whenever there’s a protest or an incident concerning police, cable news mostly relies on “law enforcement and national security correspondents” who are almost always ex-cops or ex-intelligence. What would it take for CNN to also have a civil liberties correspondent on standby to cut to as well?

Please tell me they’re not collecting welfare benefits.

A colleague at Stanford’s business school used The Stanford Daily to argue—poorly—against DEI. The piece was riddled with historical errors and left one searching for fact, so I broke my public writing hiatus to respond.

I hope you’ll read and share the piece.

🚨Measles cases in the US surge 35% in ONE WEEK—now at 222 in 12 states.

We’re nearing last year’s TOTAL of 285, and it’s only March. Two deaths already, both unvaccinated. Texas is the epicenter with 198 cases.

The CDC’s weekly data lags, so the numbers are likely even higher.
