Many indigenous reserves in Amazonia are islands of forest amidst a sea of destruction. That of the Uru-eu-wau-wau in Rondônia State is one of these. This film documents the struggle of the Uru-eu-wau-wau to hold onto their land.

Indigenous participation in COP is essential, but even with indigenous voices, I sometimes wonder if these yearly meetings are actually doing anything to avert climate chaos.

Restoring ancient woodlands is fun and not hard. Get yourself a chainsaw license. Grab a regenerative felling license for the woods. Then get stuck in thinning away the trees that shouldn’t be there to give more space for the native species struggling for light. Will use the conifers for timber. 🫡

Y'day was our last visit to coill Gleann dá loch for 2025 which we wrapped up nicely with a few well earned pints and meal

2025 in summary: 2.7ha of Rhodo cleared (6.67 acres) over 12 days with an average of 7 volunteers each outing. Not to mention our follow up work at two other local sites (1/2)

From my perspective, COP30 did not accomplish all that much. This is a step backwards.

This new policy is encouraging, but it is one thing to announce a ban, another to enforce it. I hope that Colombia succeeds.

It’s allowed them to transform an old sheep barn into a sphagnum growing space and get support from The Yorkshire Peat Partnership to help with collecting moss.

I sometimes wonder why we bother with these international conferences and "agreements". I think that many of the signatories sign with no intention of following through on what they agreed to.
