We didn't properly get to see all the top ten finish cross the line today, such was the desperation to cut to the banter in the studio. I might be getting old, but coverage was so much better 20 years ago. #ParisRoubaix

The Friday before the East Cleveland Classic and this is the British Cycling website page for the National Road Series. The irony of the taskforce still being the top story isn't lost when the governing body can't even promote their blue riband series in the most basic way.

Who is doing the commentary on the Basque Tour with our friend Carlton? I seem to always miss the intro bit and don't recognise the voice (he also did some of Milan San Remo I think?)

Watching Flanders late. The most striking thing so far is the utter rubbish Carlton still spews. He seems to be going down the pecking order, why did they put him on this race?!

Not sure why there's so much talk about moving either Paris-Nice or Tirreno-Adriatico so they're not in the same week.

I really don't see the issue. Two brilliant races side-by-side.

TA does need to refind it's mojo as the routes recently have been mediocre, but nothing needs changing.

Small reminder that just because a guy isn't blowing people off the wheels when the TV coverage starts doesn't mean they aren't a very strong domestique.
biggest superteam in mens cycling, maybe ever and you take ‘vegard stake laengen’ to one of your biggest objectives of the year

My favourite race today, Le Samyn, a Flemish race in French speaking Wallonia. A great race to go and watch, it contains some of the toughest cobbles outside of Paris-Roubaix. The weather makes the final section treacherous, so today could well be a sprint finish unless MdvP can pull off something

We've finally got to the stage where the return of the Tour of the Reservoir is becoming a reality and entries are now open.

Aside from cycling, this is a big point - fans of sports like snooker and skiing are faced with a £30 cost out of nowhere, it's across the board.

The thing is, with Discovery+ currently costing £7, if 25% of subscribers pay up, they're making more money. 1 in 4 isn't a huge number.
Wonder what that means for #snooker.

Answer:
"Discovery+ streaming subscribers will see their service simplified into just two tiers, with all sports content moving to the premium package"

Was toying with the idea of signing up with them for the snooker but that won't be happening now...

Last day of the £2 bus fare cap in England. One of the best, and most transformative policies ever. The rise isn't good for the environment, or the poorest who will have to work even harder to make ends meet now.

There are almost as many great stories about Rik II (Van Steenbergen was Rik I) as he had wins (367). Won all the Monuments, 37 GT stages, two world road titles, points title at TDF and Vuelta, the mountains (!) prize at the Giro. One of the absolute legends of racing. RIP
Rik Van Looy, winner of multiple Monuments and GT stages, passed away today. 🕊️
