Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Remember how we're moving?

Well I have some Trade Paperback comic books, #books, and old TTRPG manuals I do not wish to have on my shelves anymore! #BuyorBarter

Read the Google Form for instructions. Please read everything, I'm so busy & tired.

Thank you!

I think my next recommendation will really highlight how my impeccable my taste is, so stay tuned. Until then...happy #HauntAlong, everybody.

And note how I didn't say good or bad taste. Just make sure it's *your* taste, not just the taste of your peers or the taste you know is palatable for the algorithm.

For anyone who disagrees with the above, well... get better taste 💅
Drac attac. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992).

If I had to relate it to #ttrpgs or just art in general: trust your taste. But like really trust it, and stand up for it if you really believe in it. It's not always gonna be spot on--it's probably going to be very rocky to start--but you'll get there the more you're able to confidently defend it.

This movie has so much confident taste. I could go on at length about Eiko Ishioka's costumes alone, but she had the gumption to design a Victorian bridal gown inspired by a lizard, and say "fuck historical accuracy" to give Big D a suit of armor made to look like a flayed devil.
Late night snacktime with Lucy. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" 1992

Beyond its technical merits (and arguable de-merits, mostly with casting that I've come to accept), it really isn't afraid to be decadent and sexy and bloody. This film has, for better or worse, become the benchmark by which most other contemporary vampire movies are judged. It's just so rich.
Got red eyes? "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992)

Coppola's adherence to analog camera tricks, the art direction inspired by Symbolism and Art Nouveau, the score by Wojciech Kilar (RIP) with contributions by Diamanda Galas, Eiko Ishioka's (RIP) mind-blowing costumes, the horrifying makeup by Michele Burke (RIP), Greg Cannom and Matthew Mungle.
Crying tears of blood. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992)

Some have described this Dracula as overwrought or doing too much. I argue that maybe those who critique the film on that aren't doing enough.

Coppola embellishes the source material at every turn, but the taste is too good so you can't help but continue feasting. It's a sumptuous film.
He ate that. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992)

For the few of you who don't know what Dracula is about, it follows a very old Balkan vampire and his move to England and chaos ensues. Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation draws on historical influences and develops the connection to protagonist Mina into a Gothic romance.

Storytime: my babysitter took me to see this in a theater at 11pm when I was young. I don't recall if it was my birthday or if she just wanted to see it, but we saw it. The first bassy notes of that iconic score and the landscape of impaled bodies would be the first details etched on my tiny brain.
A horizon filled with impaled Turks. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992)

Hello, rats and bats. It's #hauntalong time, and tonight I'm kicking off my selects with inarguably the best (authorized) Dracula movie ever.

Money is wild. It's completely made up, but it's treated as more important than things we actually need to live like water and oxygen. Humans love inventing reasons for destroying ourselves.

Do you like fun simple games that are deceptively deep art, luring you to the brink of losing yourself in the listless void before summoning you home with the sticky smells of dried Coke and fry oil?

Me too!
The ttrpg book Tourist Hole in hand. The author on the cover seems to be labeled “Escape,” which is a little weird. The printed edition of Tourist Hole opened to its introductory page, where a family of toy figures strolls under the shadow of a hanging skeleton.
