Such a tragic event - my thoughts are with the gentleman's friends & family, and anyone impacted by it.

Police enquiries are still ongoing so if you know anything about what happened on Annandale Street, please use reference: 0302 // Sun 28th Sep. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/81-year...

Unfortunately, we've had longstanding issues pre the Albion Road closure - take your point but hopefully we can get better traffic calming & pedestrian/cyclist infrastructure (whether that's an island etc) without affecting the pavements.

Genuinely UNBELIEVABLE...

Delivering a letter launching my pedestrian safety petition on the junction of Easter Road & Dalmeny Street / St Clair Street, & emerge out a stairwell to another crash.

Spoke to Police & everyone ok but shaken up.

This can't keep happening.
An out of focus letter and a collision on a street corner.

She was a force for nature, tirelessly advocating for the protection and restoration of our natural world.

Her presence will be sorely missed." - Tanya Steele, CEO WWF UK.

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.

As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

🚒 Caught up with Scottish Fire & Rescue in Leith last wknd to discuss the challenges of safety in tenements

The consultation to close Marionville Stn still live if you want to see it saved - densely populated areas deserve & rely on fast response times: firescotland.citizenspace.com/sfrs-communi...

🚲🅿 Update from today's Council Transport & Environment cttee to increase cycle parking on Leith Walk from my amendment / request last year. Have spoken w/ Edinburgh Council officers re possible locations between bike lane & road.

Although it's not on this year's priority list, glad it's progressing
Document reading:
Additional Bike Parking along Leith Walk
On 10 October 2024, a report on incorrect parking on the
tram line was considered by Committee. Committee
requested that officers engage with relevant ward
councillors and Community Councils along the route on
how Sheffield bike stands could be deployed along Leith
Walk on larger spaces between the bike lane and
carriageway to assist both as a physical barrier and
promote active travel.
This has now been progressed to identify suitable
locations. Out of 11 potential locations initially identified,
seven have been deemed appropriate for the installation of
bike stands following site visits and technical assessments.

These locations have now been added to the rolling
programme of citywide public bike parking installations and
prioritised in line with the recently developed Citywide
Public Bike Parking Strategy. (FULL TEXT on edinburgh.gov.uk)
