I'm pretty sure we've been mispronouncing "ICE" this whole time.

The "I" is silent, it's really just "SS."

Reminder that as a corporate lobbyist, Pam Bondi represented scores of clients facing federal regulatory scrutiny — including Amazon, Uber, and GM.

She also represented the government of Qatar and ICE contractor GEO Group.

"Conflicts of interest" is an understatement.

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Listen, Democrats. Until you get serious about putting competent people into leadership, until your actions show us that you believe all the things you say in these endless emails asking for money, you're getting fuckall from me.

Get your shit together, and then we can talk about donations.

Fundamentally, no one believes the Dem base will truly get violent, and if they do, the cops will put them down, whereas everyone believes the GOP base will get violent, and when they do the cops won’t stand in their way.

Foucault: “Politics is war by other means.”
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

“We are all afraid,” Senator Lisa Murkowski said. “It’s quite a statement. But we are in a time and a place where I certainly have not been here before. I’ll tell you, I’m oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice, because retaliation is real. And that’s not right.”
Senator Lisa Murkowski Makes Startling Admission as Trump Wages Retribution Campaign
Lisa Murkowski, a longtime senator from Alaska and an independent voice in an increasingly tribal party, has been the rare Republican on Capitol Hill willing to criticize President Trump’s actions.

The fundamental choice has not been as stark since World War II: democracy and freedom, or dictatorship and tyranny.

Trump and his sycophants are siding with the latter. The rest of us must loudly, proudly, and boldly proclaim our allegiance to the former.

I can’t believe this has to be said, but: You cannot tell the story of Jackie Robinson—as a ballplayer, serviceman, or human—without discussing our country’s history of racism.
