The program is now posted for the upcoming international conference on the history of plague, 14-16 October in Bordeaux: www.academia.edu/143929249. An important gathering of historians, bioarchaeologists, entomologists, & geneticists looking at one of the most devastating diseases in history. 🧪🗃️
The opening page of the program for a colloquium to be held in Bordeaux in October. In addition to the title (Les Hommes et la peste: 50 ans plus tard, que sait-on? Hommage à Jean-Noël Biraben [“Humankind and the Plague: Fifty Years On, What Do We Know? A Colloquium in Honor of Jean-Noël Biraben”]), the image shows a recent photograph of the honoree, Biraben; a "plague cross" erected in 1890 to commemorate the plague in Dordogne in 1350; and an image of a corps riding on a horse, from a later 14th-century tapistry.
