I had physical therapy today to address an issue in my leg that started in June. There's an impinged nerve in my hip. The PT said I need to work on bigger, stronger glutes and exterior hip muscles to help re-orient the hip angle. So... basically...

If you’re a working artist talking to other creatives I’m begging you to not hide this. I have a parter who makes more and I don’t hide that and try to be as open as I can especially one on one. It’s cruel to not be honest with your fellow artist and give them any kind of false hope or fear
Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on

It is far too soon to say (waiting on more tests, evals, etc.), but it looks like my liver is indeed improved from 2020. They expected decline and replacement in 10-15 years but I'm 5 years in and it's *better* than it was initially. So. I might be able to keep this asshole.

I am also, btw, snort laughing at every GWAR related response right now. My friend saw them in concert in high school and had to stay home fake sick because of all the fake blood stains in her hair and on her skin. I bet she’d have gone again in a heartbeat.

Seriously. My income has gone down $$$, the rent just went *UP* $300, electric is going up again, food is $$$, and I get possibly one small commission per year now and art is the only thing I can do around my disabilities. Each time I see an AI avatar, I hear my own doomsday clock tick off a second.

This fear is at best silly. If you can say out loud we shouldn't imprison & kill POC, Trans & disabled people, that we should have affordable housing, medical care, clean water, cool. Because the reins are currently held by people who proudly admit to CSA. Their "jokes" don't seem to stop things.
