So Texas Republicans have now set up a TIP LINE to rat out the Texas Democrats

So PLEASE, for the sake of the public, DO NOT FLOOD THIS NUMBER with tips on Bigfoot sightings, UFO sightings, or asking why Trump is on “the list”

Thank you!

Wondering why, instead of just talking to Abrego Garcia, Van Hollen didn’t bring him home. El Salvador Canberra bribed to take him; surely they can be bribed to release him.

The MAGA Machine relies on compliance. Military at the border? Soldiers can shut it down. Logging at National Forests? Logging employees can refuse to cut. But each action costs the individual long before it has a cumulative effect, and each seems ineffectual and small, so people don't bother.

The danger to anyone without a US passport is real. And we already know that citizens are next. Do not stop. #resist

Resistance is active. And it will cost us. Are you willing to make good trouble?
April 5, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Resistance means taking action.

We are not yet so far gone that turning up the way they are in Istanbul is dangerous. We are not yet at Tiananmen Square’s massacre. But if we don’t show up now, that’s where we’re headed. The people in those places showed up despite the risk. We can do the same.

Watch some older TV--80s and 90s--and you can see how far round the bend the US has gone. All the progress we have made and all the ways that progress has been and is being erased. How well or poorly things aged, what we accomplished and where we failed. Or go further back. Same observations.

I don’t want to say it, but worse things are coming. Until people quit obeying illegal orders, all the judges‘ injunctions in the world will be meaningless. Unless people physically stop abuses, they won’t cease. Filming or putting on blast is a start—documentation is needed—but it isn’t enough.

Maybe all those America First people can pay attention now that it’s American lives being put at risk rather than just, you know, the lives lost to genocide in Gaza, human shields in Ukraine, detained immigrants, and people in countries vulnerable to climate change catastrophes.

And love. We fight for those we love. Even a hopeless rebellion is worth the effort.
Rebellions are built on hope.

Telling us that Trump is a felon and shouldn’t be in charge of things isn’t helpful. We knew and elected him anyway. You aren’t changing anyone’s mind by reminding us of his cheating, lying, first term shenanigans, etc.

Focus on documenting new crimes and resisting illegal activities.

Okay, after a bit of a break due to personal reasons, I am back. I haven't necessarily been silent IRL, nor have I been oblivious. Things are getting worse.

Welcome to autocracy. The Republic we have known for the last 240 years is gone. This is going to keep getting worse. Much worse. The courts mean nothing, the law means nothing, Congress is irrelevant. He is a malignant psychopath.

Took a few days off to detox, enjoyed the half time show that wasn't made for me, and now I am ready to get back to it.

In case you missed it, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is now hosting medical data no longer available from the CDC.

This is what resistance looks like.

Remember. It’s never:

We fight for (these people) because maybe we’re more at risk if we don’t.

No more Niemölling.

We fight because they are coming for anyone.

Every single person matters.

Each and every human being’s life and safety is worth the fight.

You don’t know what I have done. But hey, if you’ve been there, why did you give up—on them or anyone else?

Prisons are overseen by grand juries, who regularly inspect them. This is how we ensure human rights and civil rights are protected. Critical external oversight keeps the system functional. Think there are any grand juries being flown to El Salvador?

Imagine saying this about an agency that has helped millions of people around the world avoid malaria, obtain clean water, and gain access to food & health care. Especially when you’re the world’s richest man & your net worth is something like 20 times this agency’s annual budget. What a foul soul.
February 3, 2025 at 9:55 PM
The efforts to run roughshod over laws regarding agencies isn’t just about those agencies. It’s about making Congress irrelevant. A neutering of one of the three branches of government. And with it the overturning of checks and balances. This is fast tracking dictatorship.

So after some time off from politics--by which I mean a day because I was busy volunteering--I find I am way behind. The news cycle is just so fast. Tariffs, another plane crash, a bunch of sports stuff, Duke beat Carolina (yeah!), and did I mention tariffs? Holy moly.
