Pity the poor, downtrodden billionaires! No way can they rake in enough money from defence contracts, government contracts, and AI porn to compensate people they steal from. Why should I profit from my own years of training and research? It's only fair that tech companies profit from it.

Indeed. Ab was Albert; Pud was Ernest (not sure where Pud comes from but it wasn't unique). In the days when everybody was a William, George, Richard, James, John, Frederick, Charles, Peter, Robert, or Donald you needed nicknames to keep track of everybody.

OCT 7, 1933 = Star kicking halfback Ab Box suffered neck injuries and facial fractures in the Argos' home opener against Montreal. The damage was pronounced season-ending and career-threatening, but Box returned to action for the playoffs wearing custom-made head protection.

OCT 7, 1922 = Backup QB Allan Arless (L) of the Montreal Winged Wheelers suffered fatal neck injuries during a 16-7 loss to the Argos at the MAAA Grounds. Much to Lionel Conacher's dismay, the false story that Arless was injured tackling him became part of Conacher lore.

They started off saying that, yes, like the British press they were adopting a political slant on the news, and this would create "balance" because the media was irredeemably biased against them. But slowly they stopped acknowledging the slant.

The blue below the pink line (Hwy 7) is the University of Guelph. The blue above the line is a sprawling maze of uninhabited industrial subdivisions. Commuters want to live in the south end; students want to live near the university. So almost all new housing goes there.

Not a NFL fan. And in the years I was one, I disliked Jim Kelly and the Bills. But seeing him looking so well today, hearing him speak to the crowd, and watching him throw t-shirts into the stands - that was really nice to see.
