The reason that you "git blame"
Whoever decided that "restart" for the P button challenges in Mario Kart World shouldn't actually retry, but instead respawn you out front the button. So you have to hit it, watch the entire un-skippable camera flyover all over again every single time should have a finger wagged at them very angrily

The @tailwindcss.com vs "write your own CSS, dummy" debate is always derailed by dogmatic absolutionists.

Utility classes aren't the devil, and neither is S/CSS. You can use both at the same time!

I've rediscovered Bootstrap recently, and have been impressed by what feels like a pragmatic balance.

A must watch.

This @kurzgesagt.org vid isn't about AI ripping them off (despite that being true). It looks far deeper, and uses their experience in deep research and fact checking to prove how cooked we really are.

A catastrophic feedback loop is well underway with AI sourcing its own slop online

Apple lets anyone play audio to your ATV over BT with zero passcode or anything by default. It's absurd. I have a ton of neighbour ATVs show up on my audio output menu on my Mac and I cannot disable discovery on my end as long as I have BT enabled on my machine.

How is this still a thing?!

This sort of law is coming to every red state that can ram it through, and likely, a lot of blue states, too.

"Protect the children" sounds good, right up until everyone's activity online must be monitored to prevent any potential exposure of someone under 21 to anything considered immoral.

Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.

While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.

Seems OAK has settled on "Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport" as its new name.

Personally, I preferred "Oakland San Francisco Napa San Jose Tahoe Yosemite Pride Week Redwoods MC Hammer Cable Car Golden Gate Bridge Park Alcatraz Painted Ladies Full House Best Flights Cheap International Airport"

Seeing "AI" enter its "mad cow disease" era didn't give the schadenfreude I expected.

Honestly didn't expect it to go this far - AI was so aggressively and parasitically deployed that it quickly eradicated its own food source.

AI training itself on AI output turns out to not be a great idea.

Music creation AI models have gotten _so good_. I was able to get it to spit out this banger (lryics as well!) in 30 seconds. Not going to lie, this was a super fun tool to play around with.

Please enjoy my AI prompted debut single: Lactose Love Gone Wrong

I wish there were other countries with high import tariffs implemented to protect and foster growth of local industry that we could look to to see how effective it is... oh well

Totally unrelated tangent, but does anyone know why iPhones cost nearly double in Brazil what it costs in the US?!

Elon Musk paid less for the United States government than he did for Twitter. Remarkable how low the bidding was.

I'm having a tough time finding sympathy for Cybertruck owners with buyer's remorse. You intentionally bought a statement piece whose statement you were never in control of, and you knew that going in.

Just got a recruiter email from X... you'd think they'd filter out ppl based on their Twitter history.

That said - want to note that not everyone shares the privileged position I'm in to choose not to work for the fascist nazi fuck.

Holding to principles often boils down to what one can afford.

This is probably one of the most gutting, yet highly plausible futures that faces society. We already treat eachother with so little humanity online.

The irony of the Internet becoming a tool of segregation and cutting away human connection versus enabling them is not something I saw coming.
How AI will supercharge loneliness: "Just imagine. People won’t watch the same movies. They won’t find the same movies on the platforms that offer movies. If you go on TikTok, you don’t even find the same comments your friends do. Reality will fragment into ever-tinier microcosms."

I'm at a point where I'm honestly vaguely surprised that anyone who isn't an admitted fascist (or at least fascist-comfortable) and/or a corporate account is still actively on the former Twitter. The best time to have left is long gone, but the second-best time is now.
