I'm now ready to share a rough DRAFT of the teaching resources list for cognitive psychology I've been compiling. As you'll see, I could use further help from you, esp. where there are no entries yet. Pls take a look & share your favorite resources.🙏 I'll keep updating the list this summer. Thanks!

🚨 New study reveals that when used to summarize scientific research, generative AI is nearly five times less accurate than humans.

Many haven't realized, but Gen AI's accuracy problem is worse than initially thought.

Was already feeling the love for UVA students while reviewing final projects and course feedback- we have pretty great students.

CASTL at UVA has a few examples, the most widely used is probably the literacy screeners that are used with over 260,000 kids each year! literacy.virginia.edu/background. But this was more Ed research than traditional cog dev lab work I think. It started before my time here.

That said, I’ve seen post bacc lab manager positions help students figure out that they don’t want to go to graduate school when they were on the fence, or help prepare students to be competitive to get into grad school (who may otherwise not make it). So it seems like useful opportunity!
jamiejirout.bsky.social
Got it- sometimes with the research staff needed it’s hard to fit a grad student, and it doesn’t seem ok to bring on a grad student for a role that’s mostly coordination and logistical planning etc. I see that’s not the kind of position you meant!
