I need to make a quick quilt, and a Jelly Roll Race Quilt is the solution. Now the only question is which jelly roll?

After the storm is over?
The sunset sky after the thunderstorm blew through. Fortunately for us the hail was small.

The Lord of the Rings carries a constant thread of continuing a task even against apparently insurmountable odds. And continuing to hope and hold onto the good when it seems that selfishness and greed is winning
Boromir: Leave it. It is over. The world of men shall fall. All will come to darkness. My city will ruin.

Aragorn: I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you I will not let the Great City fall. Nor our people fail.

Spent yesterday at the Brisbane Craft & Quilt Fair. As usual the Queensland Quilters exhibition was the highlight.
This quilt, Links to the Past by Joanne Johnson, was one of my favourites

Wellington did decide to throw in a southerly just before we left. Whitecaps on Cook Strait with the Wainuiomata Coast soon after take-off.
The photo's contrast has been increased slightly.

Also from Pekapeka wetlands, dark water creates amazing reflections and intensifies the colour of the sky and clouds

On our way south from Napier we stopped at the Pekapeka wetlands and went for a short walk. Saw a white faced heron, matuku moana, as it hopped out of the reeds onto the boardwalk to watch for prey

Minor mission accomplished in Malaysia. Found "The enigmatic Madam Ingram" by Meihan Boey at MPH.

Really enjoyed the first in the series "The formidable Miss Cassidy" set in 1890s Singapore with elements of traditional folklore.

Another demolition job on the sampler box at #TangFeiDessert Seapark, PJ
A wonderful taster of traditional desserts and even for 5 an "ample sufficiency". Always a highlight of a trip to Malaysia

The quilt was finally finished and gifted. And it was a success, so yay for "commissions " for friends who know what they want and can express it.
Happy 20th Birthday!

After a rainy morning and a fine early afternoon, a short sharp sunshine gifted us a rainbow.

A small portion of the quilt I've just taken to get quilted.
I think at 90" square, it's the largest I've made so far

The ghost of a cutting board.
Spent some time this morning trimming pieces for the current quilt. And this afternoon was for piecing

If red sky at night is shepherd's delight and it's fine tomorrow, I guess there's no excuse for not mowing the lawn 😄

@7news.bsky.social SERIOUSLY? Husbands and sons are buying Mothers Day gifts but daughters don't exist??
I know it's a fluff piece but that's just bizarre

If @7news.bsky.social can't tell the difference between VE Day (victory in Europe) and the end of WWII how can I take their reporting seriously?
While the package had the correct info, it's time they started fact checking the presenters. This is by no means their first careless mistake
