Government accountability is American.
I respect the Constitution, and it calls for #NoKings.
Busy whack-a-mole-ing injustices.

The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government is holding a hearing on why census miscounts hurt American citizens.

Make no mistake, the fundamental purpose of the Census is not to count just Americans, but every individual living in the U.S.

The Constitution says so

While the government continues to be on shut down, workers operating without pay, US Secretary of DHS Kristi Noem, is using our taxpayer dollars to get herself two private jets.
The corrupt spending by this administration is out of control.

$175M for private jets for the same person who has slowed down funds for disaster relief and national security.

And during a government shutdown when millions stand to lose their healthcare. It’s shameful.

Blatant headline for a blatantly corrupt scheme. Americans want election reform + accurate representation. We want improvement, not take steps back. Gerrymandering is a political weapon that is inherently unequal - this takes it up a notch and it shouldn’t be normalized.

Senator Rounds should not be asking Russ Vought what the philosophy of the Senate Appropriations Committee should be. The 158 years of history should be telling enough.

@murray.senate.gov asks Vought to commit to staying within the law, not impounding funds, and avoiding any deferral scheme to run out the clock.

Vought: It is on the table.

Vought is outright disregarding Congress' Article 1 powers. Congress should not back illegal executive overreach.

Sen. Collins points to Russ Vought the inconsistencies and opaqueness in his opening statement.

Vought noted that no life-saving treatment will be affected. Yet, he is proposing to cut funding for life-saving programs.

Noted in front of the Senate Approps today: Let Congress do its job. Let Congress appropriate. Members should not let the executive branch influence bipartisan negotiations at the expense of constituents in their home state.

ICE is on track to be $1 billion over budget. During today's hearing, the Senate Appropriations Committee should grill OMB Director Russell Vought on this apparent overspending.
How did ICE break the bank?
Congress should ask the budget director

“Tonight is his night. He deserved it. He won.”

The result in New York City, if it holds, is a seismic event not just for the city but for the Democratic Party, making the 33-year-old Zohran Mamdani the clear frontrunner heading into November.

At House Approps Leg Branch markup, Ranking Member @repespaillat.bsky.social

"the party who has prioritized waste, fraud, and abuse has cut... the government's premier auditor and watchdog."

Make it make sense.

This isn't partisan. The GAO must not be politicized for partisan gain.

House Republicans have proposed a 50% cut to the Government Accountability Office and a 12% cut to the Library of Congress in a bill to be marked-up tomorrow.

This would destroy Congress's non-partisan expert agencies and blow up the Legislative branch.

Congress is moving to slash GAO’s funding by 50%—gutting their own watchdog. The GOP and Democrats have long depended on their work to make informed decisions to root out waste, fraud, and abuse.

Slashing a nonpartisan, independent legislative agency? Not a good move.
