I'm not really an expert at anything, and don't generally have anything profound to say. I just like seeing what people I like have to say and helping spread those things if they're good. Prog/Lib/Dem. PNW.

Money can buy happiness. If Elon Musk built a rocket and shot himself into the fucking sun that would generate massive happiness.
it’s genuinely reassuring to me that this is the most miserable and paranoid person in the entire world

NEW: @rokhanna.bsky.social is calling for Congress to haul in every person who emailed Epstein about visiting his island.

He says he won’t rest until those who committed these crimes are held accountable.

it has gotten overlooked, but Trump's new talking point that crime is down in Minneapolis because of him is preposterous. As of the end of last month his goons have committed the majority of 2026 murders in the city!

A huge scandal, especially as Trump said he wants Republicans to "take over" state elections.

They're trying to rig 2026 and 2028 right in the open.
Richard Blumenthal on Tulsi Gabbard: A lot of us are aghast at the absolute incompetence of his explanation, her being there and there being no responsibility that justifies her going to Georgia and interfering with elections there.

One more comment on the Post debacle: this hurts journalism broadly. Good journalists will go do something else. The rest will be fighting for fewer jobs and everyone will earn less. Fewer people will take up the career. The damage done is to the ecosystem, as well as the paper.

So there was just a very loud and sustained "Fuck ICE" chant during a pro wrestling show on live primetime television, if you wanna get a sense of the vibe shift.

(One of the wrestlers, Brody King, is an outspoken prigressive and wore an "Abolish ICE" shirt at a Mexico show in June.)

Incredible that JD Vance went silent for 4 days amid the new Epstein Files and then re-emerged to:
– Glaze a guy whose lyrics are "I like 'em underage, see some say that's statutory, but I say it's mandatory"
– Say Kaitlan Collins should've smiled more when she asked Trump about Epstein victims

This man is so awful.
Vance: There was a moment in the Oval Office, I wasn't even in there, but Trump was talking to Kaitlan Collins. Trump says, 'Why don't you ever smile?' And it's actually, like, so perceptive. Have some fun.

One way for the media to win back the respect of viewers would be for them to show us that they have some self-respect of their own.

When you let the president denigrate and humiliate your colleagues without saying a word, you're not really giving off a "holding the powerful to account" vibe
Trump's constant degradation of female reporters is unsurprising but the press corps' collective decision to treat it as background noise is actually kind of sickening
