Many autocrats declare a state of emergency in order to suspend the rule of law without claiming to abolish it. Always just temporarily, until order is restored. Just trust them. This is at least in the same spirit.

Stephen Miller says they are “actively looking at” suspending the writ of habeas corpus, which is only allowed when the US has been invaded or during an insurrection, which would not allow people to challenge their incarceration in court if they are arrested and detained.

I hope everyone knows that it's very easy for any social content platform, including Bluesky, to be a misery machine and that if you aren't intentional about it, they will absolutely decrease the positive impact you have on the world while making you less happy.

Make it make sense. Even if someone is illiterate or not classed as educated. Make it make sense why a human life that is demanded to work for a wage is given less wealth in retirement than if he labored in a field to feed his family. Where in the world can we know freedom?

My 401k just dropped nearly 10k... ho, ly, crap I have never been so demoralized in my life. I earned that money and they just took it away...
