The Crespo Foundation held their 1st exhibition by artists from their residency program in their new gallery in Frankfurt.

I’ve been their photographer here, making portraits with most of the visiting artists & other diabolical scenes, which are included in their 1st exhibition catalogue.

My own history with Glenkeen began in early 2000s when Uli Crespo & Michael Satke began collecting my paintings. Three of which, from various series, are visible hanging over the dinner table above.

This was a feast of various foraged seaweeds from around our coastline cooked up by Jo Wanneng & Lukas Fütterer aka STRWÜÜ. See next photo.

It’s a rare position, one I appreciate, for me to be both included in the permanent collection & continue contributing as the foundation grows from its infancy in such diverse creative company.

The catalogue goes a long way into recognising / acknowledging the creative community which makes up Ballydehob alongside the environment.

I honestly thought that they'd not do the greyhounds thing this year given the anger over SEN places, CAMHS, scoliosis treatment for children etc. Just because of the optics, not because they gaf. Stunning really.

The Basic Income for the Arts Scheme is €325 a week, similar to what they gave out during the pandemic. This is how much they've deemed one needs in order to live in Ireland. So why is disability benefit only €244? Why are disabled and sick people expected to live so far below the poverty line?

As fucking atrocious as western coverage of the genocide in Gaza has been, the accompanying ecocide in both Gaza and the West Bank has gone almost totally unacknowledged. Palestinians have cultivated these trees for generations. The oldest tree in Palestine could be up to 5,000 years old.

Honestly i'm really disgusted, I knew there was no way they would give the recommended €25 increase to ppl on social welfare, I thought they might come up to the €12 & try to give some sort of cost of disability payment, I honestly didn't think they would be this callous when the cost of living

So many of us have shared confidential personal info with the Garda Vetting Bureau in order to volunteer in our communities. That data does not appear to be safe.

There is a real story here Niall if you'd care to write about it, someone is leaking Garda vetting information for political gain. Breaching confidentiality and GDPR requirements. Every underage coach, every volunteers data is not secure. Confidence in vetting undermined. That's the story. #Aras25

The Long Game
