When I was about 11 or 12, there were three books that I kept checking out from the library SO MUCH that my parent's bought me my own copies...

TALKING WITH DRAGONS by Patricia C Wrede
ELLA ENCHANTED by Gail Carson Levine
THE ONLY ALIEN IN THE PLANET by Kristen D Randle
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Lots of folks on Threads are talking about the staggering amount of scammer emails from people pretending to be book clubs, reviewers, and more.

Seems like the endgame is eventually getting you to pay a good chunk of money for promotions and readers that likely don’t exist.

Be careful out there.

Minneapolis has a great food scene! Also, and probably more obvious, so does Seattle. The best fried chicken was Gus's in Memphis.

Seanan McGuire is one of my all-time favorite authors & I love this!💜 Frankenstein+Stranger Things (w/o the romances). So intricate & delicate, a love letter to math & language, and siblings. A scifi fantasy of epic proportions & masterful storytelling.📚 #booksellerJaya

I'm a former bookseller and BINC really helped me out during the pandemic when my car died. Big thank you to them for helping me get funds for a replacement. 💜
As we approach the season of giving, I wanted to share the incredible work of the Binc Foundation, a critical safety net for the book industry. 🧡

Binc helps booksellers and bookstore owners in times of need. They keep bookstores open and help them rebuild. A worthy cause, indeed.

Rereading is a real treat sometimes! ✨️ So wonderful! A folktale that feels like coming home & going on an adventure all at the same time. A dash of Wizard of Oz & Alice in Wonderland, but told w Seanan's love of language. A book for grownups but one that young teens could enjoy. 💜 #booksellerJaya
