Also NJ, OH, OK, AZ, and TX.
(Also, seeing NJ in a list with rhoae states is always bad, no matter what it is).

This IS the hill I will die on. Humanities and arts will always be the spark, even when it isn't blatantly obvious.
This cross-pollination IS how new ideas happen. EVERY field needs humanistic thinking, that's why they call PhDs "Doctors of Philosophy"
Alt text for those who need it. This is amazing.

Gonna give #musicdavent another go w/ my own twist; the A to Z will be chosen from Eurovision participants, both winners & non.
I'm already a day behind: for A I am offering "A"nne Marie David's win, which I grew up listening to the 45 my parents purchased agter her win.

When I hit the trifecta of tapestry stitching, reruns of Cold Case, & speed reading one book a night from a light & easy mystery series, that's when I've hit the denial stage on how out of hand my trifecta of depression/stress/anxiety is. On the upside, almost done with half the current design!

According to the article the bowhead whale can live up to 200 years because of how they can repair damaged cells & so show scientists a new direction in curing cancer. Too bad this admin (& others) are hell bent on destroying their habitat. Honestly, we don't deserve to share the Earth with them.

#3. Both Reeves & Winters were very good, and Durdin & Thornton as Pozzo and Lucky were superb. I am a fan of Jamie Lloyd's productions, even though I'll also admit they can be a little..anti typical theater in order to then be overly theatrical (if that makes sense) so I enjoyed the direction too.

Show number two. I have wanted to see this on stage since always. Not thrilled with LM being cast but that's okay.

No one ever has my answer to the question what's the one travel essential you won't leave home without. My vodka spray (in approved TSA sized bottle) keeps clothes fresh, can be used as a disinfectant, and im a pinch can calm nerves (if you haven't added any scented oils to it).

Part 11 of 200 in historically interesting things to inspire your ttrpg

An emerald cup, with Persian verse carved inscription, which belonged to the emperor Jahangir.

Following @oregonthedm.bsky.social and their list of historically interesting things is the best thing I did for myself here. You absolutely do not have to be into DND. Do yourself a favor and do the same. Seeing each post renews my faith in humankind, in a way.
Long ago on the hell site I made long list of historically interesting things to use in dnd ttrpgs and I'll start dragging them over here starting with

2000 years-old sapphire ring presumably belonged to Roman emperor Caligula, depicting his fourth wife Caesonia.

I saw this yesterday & as I said on @blacknell.bsky.social repost, of all the shittiest AI "possibilities" this is the shittiest. If you're lucky to have had a loving relationship w/ someone who's died, grieving & missing them many years on, as I do my parents, is what being human is about. JFC.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

Do I have an actual *notebook* with the names of all the movies and shows and miniseries and documentaries I'd like to watch? Yes. Do I then end up rewatching McDonald and Dodds episodes for the 4th or 5th time, or my favorite Poirot and Marple episodes for the nth time? Also and very much so yes.

Fnally updated our home office situation so we are on different floors & opposite ends of the house & rooms with doors so someone doesn't have to hear the other's hyperfixation song of the day for 8 hours straight & someone else gets a reprieve from Hank Williams which is apparently coding music.
