So the fact that the world decided now is the right time for the remake is a bad sign of what’s to come, I’m afraid.

DNF. Came into this book expecting occult/cult horror but instead found page after page of straight up xenophobia. Gave it up after 150 pages or so and I’m probably done with Dan Simmons even though I love Hyperion.

It’s action with big, loping swings and crunchy, bone-rattling impacts.

My dream is just to be a magic swordsman: FF5’s Paladin or FF7’s Added Affect materia that lets you attack and do elemental damage or status effects.
That or gimme a shotgun.

The thing is, the entire time you’re playing Baldur’s Gate 3, you can’t help but realize what a high bar all the vocal performances are setting.
Then you hear Samantha Beart TRULY bring it at the end of Karlach’s story. Astounding work.

The Duck Hunt Dog made me so embarrassingly mad as a kid. Just a perfectly designed troll of a character.

Return of the Obra Dinn is correctly rated in online video game circles, but none of my friends will play it.
No matter how much I talk about it.
Maybe BECAUSE of how much I talk about it.

Weigraf from Final Fantasy Tactics, easy. A character with noble ambitions, who could be the hero of a different game, slowly torn down by the systems of power he fights against.
Weigraf has been the high-water mark for antagonist writing for a long, long time.

And 2) AI sucks in EVERY single instance it is used right now. Why would we trust it to write our lesson plans?

I love games with big ensembles casts, but there aren’t many games where the main character is my favorite character. So it’s extra impressive that Ichiban Kasuga is objectively the best character in Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Just an earnest, fun, charismatic dude.

I gave YEARS of my life to Super Smash Bros Melee, and I’d still gladly sit and play all day.
