Finally made it through the months-long hold for Oathbound this week and my goodness. The amount of stress I have had for these characters! Bree and Nick and Sel and the community Bree has built for herself - just perfect.

This is beautiful! 😻

Aww, Libby, why? If i actually have to remember to unsuspend a hold I'll probably never remember to read the book.

We had Georgia history in...shoot. I think 8th grade. It was approximately a billion years ago & I don't know if that's still the case.

So, right now, the only reliable way to diagnose endometriosis is with exploratory surgery. But finally, real scientists (instead of male scientists), are on the job & of course they’ve identified multiple markers in menstrual blood that point to noninvasive testing.

What a sweet face! 😍 Mr M is deathly allergic or I’d be getting a new friend!! Someone give this precious a home. <3

This is Pepper. She needs a home where her job is weighted blanket and not terrorizing every other cat in the house + making them ill. She's very territorial but extremely sweet with (adult) humans.
Do you live within driving distance of Houston + need a solo lap cat? I will bring her to you!

Spotted at Dragon Con! #SaveWOT
On the corner of the Westin hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, digital billboard that wraps around the corner of the building advertises the save The wheel of Time campaign. The image has the character Rand al'Thor carrying the character of Moiraine with spears that have been shoved into the ground and are now standing on end all around them. The text on the billboard reads: Save The Wheel of Time. Savewot.com

Ooooh Inside Job and Late Checkout are so pretty!

I love how absurd this convention is. Warms my nerd heart.
The Dragon Con shrine for the Cult of Jon. A stack of decorated FedEx boxes with googly eyes glued on. And offerings scattered around.

I am lightly horrified by how many people have now looked up their books and found out their publishers (who often were required contractually!!!!) just... didn't register the copyrights on books. Not all of them! Just sporadically!

This is not just one publisher, I've seen all the big ones now.
ajcousins.bsky.social
Today is the day authors are learning how many of their publishers straight up blew off registering copyright and I feel like that deserves a class action suit of its own if it costs everyone their settlement money from the Anthropic suit... 😒🤬
totallydonna.kitrocha.com
Tor just straight up didn't register the copyright for two of our books, even though they were contractually obligated to do so.

One day I will FULLY describe that shit show. But not today.

Thank you for the honest photo comparison (def the same photo!) and laugh this morning.

I couldn't stop laughing at the googly eyes. They really are a Whole Thing at this convention.

Jinu shrine already has a start as of Wednesday night/Thursday morning at Dragon Con. Spotted by my husband in, I think, the Marriott. Or maybe the habitrail tubes connecting Marriott & Hyatt.
A photo of Jinu from K-pop demon hunters rests against a baseboard on a pale tile floor. Googly eyes have been added to the image. In front of the photo are offerings that are the beginning of an impromptu shrine. These offerings include electric candles, candy, a guitar pick, and some change.

It's red panda day! A friend saw the feral fairies and asked if I could make a red panda. I immediately saw it in my mind, so it had to happen. #bsnm 🧶

The red pandas have joined the other feral fairies in Whimsy Station! whimsystation.com/collections/...
Three polymer clay red panda fairies standing on their hind legs with paws in the air (and heart-shaped paw pads)! They have black rhinestone eyes, heart-shaped noses, and butterfly style wings behind them. Three polymer clay red panda fairies from behind so you can see their butterfly style wings, decorated with crystals and rhinestones. Today's small joy: caterpillars chowing down on milkweed in my garden. 🤞 Fingers crossed that they survive!
A monarch caterpillar, striped in white, yellow, and black, climbs up the stem of a swamp milkweed plant. The long narrow leaves of the plant drape around it. A monarch caterpillar clinga to the underside of a long narrow leaf on a swamp milkweed plant.

27 years ago, two years after the introduction of effective HIV treatment, the Bay Area Reporter, San Francisco’s lesbian and gay community newspaper, ran ‘No Obits’ as its headline.
It was the first edition not to report an AIDS death in almost 15 years.
The Bay Area Reporter front page, 13 August 1998.
The headline ‘No obits’ is written in red above the lead story.

There's really nothing quite like finishing a novel and then just sitting there to absorb the emotional wringing out you just went through. In the best way possible!
