Another thing that’s kind of odd, let’s say, about the “clanker thing: it reorients the blame to the object of AI instead of the subject boosting it too much. Like, “slop” rightly locates AI artifacts as undifferentiated and as inert. “Clanker” does the opposite, kind of launders AI maximalism
