If you're not autistic, please try to remember that autistic people can be incredibly sensitive to tone of voice—what a non-autistic person may consider a "firm" voice can feel like yelling.

And if your autistic person has a communication disability, this dynamic may be behind their "behaviors."

When school sucks for autistic and ADHD students, the emotional impact hits them twice as hard. Unsurprisingly, this can lead to increased anxiety and depression. New research backing up autistic common knowledge:

In a world that worships productivity, choosing rest is rebellion.
Accommodating yourself is resistance.
Honoring your limits is power.
It’s Disability Pride Month, and I’m proud as fuck of you for taking care of yourself even when the world tells you not to.

Election day in a country that has had a fair and free vote for generations.

Where all the opposition parties are free to take power.

Where virtually everyone will accept the election result.

After my last year, it’s a history and a privilege I’m more grateful for than ever.

Let’s get at it.

Which means I'll be on air with Gloria Macarenko, Michelle Eliot and others, showing results, maps, and CHARTS.

It'll be fun to inform a national audience, and I hope you'll tune in!

Here's the silver lining for tonight's byelection debacle.

Part of the justification for cutting back staffing was turnout in byelections is typically very low.

And this one didn't matter to the balance on council.

Yet thousands of voters waited for hours to exercise their democratic right.
