I've been thinking this exact same thing
I don't think it's a coincidence that all of this (worldwide) is happening when most of the people who lived through WWII have just died. We need to do a better job of keeping their memories and ideals alive.

A friend in Minneapolis just sent me this video. Looks like thousands have come together for a vigil after an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. This was my neighborhood for several years before coming to Portland.

Just finished "The Last Days of the Dinosaurs" by @restingdinoface.bsky.social Really enjoyed it. Couple things that'll stick with me: species that evolved over millions of years gone in a day; and the evolutionary concept of diversity driving more diversity. Good stuff!
