My 15 year old just texted me this TikTok video and told me that “this is our geopolitical situation right now.” I both love that he’s politically astute and hate that this is the world he has to grow up in.

VP Delcy Rodriguez, whom Trump indicated earlier today was collaborating with the US government, is live on television right now.

Earlier reports that she's in Russia are false. She's in Caracas with the rest of the cabinet.

from the perspective of Venezuelans, I suppose last night's military operation doesn't really look very different from Grenada in 1983, Panama in 1989, or countless other US military actions

what makes this feel different from vantage points outside of Latin America is that the US is no longer

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Every time this comes up, it should be mentioned that measles causes "immune amnesia". The immune system forgets how to fight off infections that it used to be able to handle.

*Not vaccinating for measles doesn't just put children at higher risk for measles, but for other diseases as well.*
