In case you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I’m on duckling duty at the barn.

Babies just hatched and I stopped a hawk from poaching one earlier, so I’ve parked myself nearby with a rake to scare off any predators until they move on down to the pond.

One of the resident barred owls in Yost Park in Edmonds was hunting in the underbrush near the trail last spring. It was well hidden in the low bushes and felt comfortable focusing on its quarry while I snagged a few shots.
