Sulphur Tuft is the British name - the other one is American.

If you have a u.v. torch, shine it on them - they fluoresce.

I know the name from my quest to find a name for the Echinoderma I found.

Good luck in your search.

The beautifully shaggy Echinoderma calcicola.

Found in a damp woodland on rich calcareous soil in West Norfolk.

First Norfolk record since 1920.

Had a slightly fruity smell. White spores.

I'm drying a fruitbody for verification by our group's DNA team.

A plan view of a eight legged invertebrate that has two long arms reaching out from its head with crab like claws on the end. The body looks like one large reddy brown oval, with the main portion bisected by a lighter line, with each side split into 10 regular sections. The body, arms, and legs, are covered in tiny short hairs, with occaisional longer ones which act as sensory organs.

First steel, now pharmaceuticals. Looks like Starmer's quickie surrender deal with the USA was built on quicksand. Not even worth the paper it was printed on.

Kemi Badenoch blames those crossing borders for our problems. It’s a lie aimed to distract.

The real issue is a system protecting the super-rich while nurses & carers can’t make ends meet. Tax wealth fairly, fund public services properly. This is how we give Britain hope again.

I think you're right. Russulas are tricky, though the colour and habitat are right for Beechwood Sickener. Buttercap is the more usual name for Buttery Collybia.

Turned over a fallen branch yesterday and found this rather lovely Green-brindled Crescent Moth. Superb camouflage.
#TeamMoth
A gnarled bit of tree branch with a well camouflaged moth sitting on top of it. The moth is patterned in shades of green and brown. Side view of a moth sitting on a gnarled bit of broken tree branch. The moth's wings are patterned in shades of green and brown. Looking down at a moth on a piece of broken tree branch. The green and brown colours of the moth are perfect camouflage against the tree bark. Some of the scales on the base of the moth's wings are a sparkling iridescent green.

Really pleased to get some decent photos of a small juvenile Mitostoma chrysomelas at Boughton Fen yesterday. One of 5 species of harvestmen I found there. Particularly like the chelicera in side shots. #arachnids #harvestmen #invertebrates
