A local example of one of the many reasons why I’m so adamantly against generative AI.
This is so awful. St. John's author Trudy Morgan-Cole was horrified to find out she is one of millions of authors whose work is being used to train Meta's AI language model. "Writers have been given no opportunity to say yes or no, and certainly no compensation," she said. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Artificial intelligence can’t do the dishes or the laundry, but it can replicate the writing style of just about any author, including those from Newfoundland and Labrador.
