The U.S. is no longer pretending that its sanctions serve to enforce international law or protect human rights. Instead it is sanctioning anyone who attempts to hold Israel accountable for its genocide—including, now, respected Palestinian human rights orgs.

Yes! It’s the assumption that tragedy is exculpatory that I object to, especially when wielded by those who actually had power and agency to prevent these ‘tragic’ deaths.
