I don't think I'll ever get over the absolute luck and joy of having close relationships with both of my parents and my sister. The last few days I've had hour-long conversations with all three of them separately and I hope I never take having them in my life for granted.

Hello! It's been a while - 22 days apparently.

I've been avoiding using my injured hand so minimal phone use, but spent a lot of time in the garden marvelling at the natural world. My grandad has been in hospital for 8 nights but is now slowly on the up. I also turned 30 on Sunday 🌿

Today's trying-to-stay-sane weaving. Practicing stripes with cotton yarn.

Valentine's day was a bit of a fiasco yesterday because someone (both of us) forgot that synesthesia and light shows are not a good combination. Poor André ended up with a migraine and now has the worst migraine hangover.

Here is a beautiful snowy photo to show off how beautiful he is.

If an Israeli - or British or American etc - woman who was eight months pregnant was shot dead by any other military, the whole world would know her name. Her name was Sondos Jamal Muhammad Shalabi. She was 23.
The Israeli military has expanded its assaults in the occupied West Bank, killing an eight-month-pregnant Palestinian woman during an armed raid in the Nur Shams refugee camp.

There is a lovely independent bookshop in my city who run lots of craft/art clubs and workshops, as well as book clubs. It's a bit far for me at the moment but I'm determined to make it to one, hopefully by summer.

That delightful feeling of impending doom and recovering from the flu meant I didn't sleep last night. I did, however, make a banana bread at 5am and then coffee and breakfast for me and Dré so at least there's been some joy there.

I have been so poorly all week, I don't know if it's flu or COVID or something similar, but I've rarely felt fatigue like this. Having to miss my dad's 60th birthday weekend and thoroughly fed up about it.

Well done #standuptoracism and the thousands who marched against the #farright and fascist #TommyRobinson This is what unity looks like 👏🏽

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, I have coffee and warm, slightly burnt croissants. I have started a new book. My head hurts and my shoulders ache but I feel calm and present, and what a beautiful, beautiful gift.

This morning’s sunshine has reminded me of the word ‘philocaly’: a love of beauty, even in the smallest things.

Agoraphobia has been a bit of a struggle the last week, but I left the house for a short lunchtime walk with my partner today and I am so proud of myself for managing it and enjoying myself! Also picked my ADHD meds up so my brain feels calmer which is always a small miracle 😌

Trimmed the fringe on these little woven samples while having a break from work! Not the biggest fan of the one on the left but it's all practice.

Before I switch off for the evening, I would like to say hi to new pals and introduce you to Juno and Flora, my two rescue cats 🤍 because animals make the world better.

I've just realised I have run out of my ADHD meds, so here's to a great caffeine-fueled few days of remembering why I do, in fact, need my medication to function normally.

THANK YOU @courtniewolfgang.bsky.social for this wonderful resource. I've spent my morning joyfully finding other creative humans, marvelling at people's work, and generally feeling a little better about the world.
I made a starter pack for other sewists migrating over from meta-based apps. Includes home sewists, independent pattern designers, and some fabric merchants. If you have adds, please share them with me so we can grow the list!

Just a quick photo I sent to a friend, but I'm quite pleased with how this little sample is coming along! I'm very much still learning and practicing techniques at the moment so it's always satisfying when an improvised sample turns out nicely!

Hey pals, I've had the urge for a fresh online start for a while and I'd rather not support meta etc much if I can help it so here we are!

Here for loving, supportive, creative communities to share art with, learn/preserve crafts and knowledge, and generally be decent human beings 🤍
