My heart goes out to everyone affected by the storm - power cuts, water, connectivtiy.... While this is the worst storm in memory, each person's challenges are very real. Thank you to all working to restore services and to everyone helping their neighbours and community💚

All seemed fine here when we woke up earlier. Listening to new we feel fortunate to have power. A neighbour has just posted this picture into our WhatsApp group. A row of trees has fallen on a power line on our lane. Woah! #Sandyford #Speirgorm #StormÉowyn

Reindeer are an exception to the rule that only males have antlers. Males will normally shed theirs before Christmas, females after winter. Thus, Santa’s helpers are likely female! (Or castrated males but in sympathy I go for the female story). Let’s start a campaign: rename Rudolph into Rodolphina😜

#GE24 Question re exit poll - did it look at the age profile of voters? Keep hearing commentary that the young didn't turn out... but wish to know if there is a basis for this generalisation. Several young first time voters in my Irish Girl Guide local group ensured they used their vote.

I really feel Holly Cairns, a party leader, not getting to cast her vote in #GE24, might be the pebble that starts the avalanche, that finally gets us postal voting in Ireland. All the best to Holly, her new child, and her whole family!

Yeah, Bluesky is really getting traction. Opened this morning and found several news stories of interest along with a smattering of quirky posts from former Irish twitterati. My only question is the term Irish Twitter - SpeirGorm or Irish Greysky (to reflect our weather). Ideas are very welcome 😃
