Just for clarity, the unemployment numbers under this government may look terrible, but keep in mind, Luxon has driven tens of thousands of Kiwis overseas as well, so its actually far worse. These numbers are just the ones that couldnt leave.

Don’t forget to vote‼️

I voted, my local supermarket had a collection point
A person drops a yellow voting envelope into a red ballot box beneath a bright yellow sign that reads “Ngā pōtitanga ā-rohe Local body elections VOTE HERE,” indicating participation in Wellington City Council elections. The ballot box has a blue sticker that partially reads “CLOSES OCT.”

For some reason had avoided watching Bank of Dave until last weekend. Just finished watching the second one
What a lovely bloke. Genuinely surprised at the movies. Honestly don’t know now why I didn’t watch them earlier

📢 1,700 Policy, Advisory, Knowledge and Specialist health workers have voted to join strike action on 23 October. The strike follows the failure of Health NZ Te Whatu Ora to provide an offer during bargaining that fairly reflects their value to the public health system.

A graphic tile that says Breaking news 17,00 Policy, Advisory, Knowledge & Specialist health workers to strike on Thursday October 23. The Stand Together For Health and PSA logos are in the corners.

Fucksake. It's quite clear now that they only looked at this benefit policy as political marketing and took no advice on who it would impact – which includes young people with serious health issues and disabilities. Just feckless and cynical. Shame on them. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit
The government is ending Jobseeker payments to 18- and 19 year olds whose parents earn more than $65,000.

Yes! We’re lucky it is compact, it hasn’t sent up lots of suckers. I took a cutting from a tree in an old farmhouse garden in Tahuna, north of Morrinsville 32 years ago. It’s been very slow growing, thankfully.

#nzpol The Reserve Bank has cut the official cash rate by 0.5%. That sounds great. But banks only cut interest rates that much when the economy is in trouble - and not when things are going well. This cut is a sign of economic weakness, not strength. A 😄🧵

Does the news reflect what we die from?
The image presents a comparison of the leading causes of death in the United States for 2023 and the media coverage these causes receive from three news outlets: The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News.

In the footer, it notes the data sources, indicating that the information is based on media mentions from Media Cloud (2025) and death data from the US CDC (2025) and the Global Terrorism Index, with a clarification that values are normalized to sum to 100%.

I lived in Molesworth Street during the 2022 occupation. It wasn’t “peaceful”; it was filth and menace. People shat and pissed on our lawns. Emergency workers were blocked from reaching neighbours. The smell lingered for weeks.

I remember when a protester punched the co-leader of the Greens in the face.

Hana Maipi-Clarke had her home broken into by a political stalker.

I recall VFF protesting outside Clarke's parents' home while Jacinda was on holiday.

I dont remember hearing about National's concerns back then??
