Besides the conventions of the times (I mean, girls weren't allowed to wear pants to school until I was in second or third grade), I don't think my parents raised us to be male or female. Just good people. Just good people in the world. That's what they wanted. For themselves. For us. For the world.

Candied Pecan Man is deeply concerned about 2026. I told him he is right where he is supposed to be. I don’t know if it’s due to his lack of ears, or that he is inanimate and not a sentient being but, apparently, I did not assuage his fears. Here’s to less anxiety and more creativity in 2026!

While DOGE has been largely forgotten, it isn't gone. Anna Bower and others have reported it continues to exist, in some form, and DOGE's social media confirms it continues to perform its destructive work.

Sadness. Plus - for me? Not a conspiracy theorist but tainted thinking since Epstein's 'suicide' gave me pause to believe cause - especially of a prominent activist who did not hesitate to speak truth to power. RIP. #RobReiner #MicheleReiner #PauseToBelieveCause www.nytimes.com/live/2025/12...

What a wonderful moment right now to remind your nervous system, your "parts," & your inner child that you are absolutely committed to your safety, stability, & recovery.

They need to hear it-- & experience it-- more than we think. Reminding them is never the wrong call.

Greenwich, CT. Seemed like a couple of thousand or so. Saw my governor and my congressman. Didn't see anyone who doesn't love America. Great vibe although would have been better if more young folks had shown up.

There are events that shape us, and there can be events that define us. The difference for memoirists is that, often, people think an event written about is an event by which we define ourselves - that is, if one is lucky enough to have readers.  #WritingCommunity #writers #poets #poetry #memoirists
