This forever
Nobody outside this country is wondering, like the pundit class does, what was wrong with Kamala Harris.

Everybody outside this country is wondering what’s wrong with US.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

This guy. I hadn't talked to him in ages but will miss him dearly. He was the cornerstone of the Reader, especially when the rocky years emerged. I spent a lot of time with Mike in this office yucking it up. I adore this photo taken by the fabulous Andrea Bauer.
From the @chicagoreader.com's 40th Anniversary issue in 2011, which Michael Miner, who died on Thursday, played a huge role in putting together:

LOL. Yeah, sure, if you're looking for the next DT. We have moved way past these pitiful asshats. There are much smarter people who don't need to abuse others to be effective leaders. Get with the program.
Andrew Cuomo is resurgent, Gavin Newsom is podcasting, and Rahm Emanuel is considering a presidential run. Are these the bullies Democrats need? @galbeckerman.bsky.social asks. theatln.tc/BO6vnFaE

Fox News reported that JD Vance had to move to an “undisclosed location” due to protests at the Vermont resort where he’s skiing this weekend. For inflicting misery on the world and here at home in America, this is exactly the energy that should greet Vance wherever he goes for the rest of his days.

I’m sorry, but repeating this framing without skepticism is collaborating with your source to mislead your readers. They have been working on humiliating Zelensky and catering to Putin since long before the inauguration. Nothing about this is a response; it’s the plan of an abuser and a charlatan.
🚨The Trump administration is considering ending all ongoing shipments of military aid to Ukraine in response to Zelensky’s remarks in the Oval Office on Friday and his perceived intransigence in the peace process, per senior administration official

We need to remember what happened in the Oval Office today.
We need to remember Helsinki.
We need to remember Jan. 6.
We need to remember family separation.
We need to remember the classified documents in the Mar-a-Lago bathroom.
They want us to forget. So we must remember – and stay angry.

Definitely support local small businesses. Use cash if you can.
I get the urge to do something but there are almost zero small businesses in your town that can afford an entire day of no sales. You will truly screw decent people that have nothing to do with what is happening.
