Mystery writer. Basset-hound lover. Democracy supporter. She/her.
I don’t think this is true. Biden didn’t lose bc he was old. He lost bc ppl were mad at Dems. You can tell bc they elected a man almost as old…

If “first they came for” means anything:

Trans people are clearly one of the first they’re coming for. Calls to go along with, even help that effort—because you think it’ll boost the party brand with some voters, or avoid dividing the working class, or whatever you tell yourself—deserve a hard no.

Lately there’s always two mood at once at all times:

Mood one: “I must spread love and support at al times. We stand together. We fight together. We protect each other.”

Mood two: “He did what now? Fuck all those motherfuckers. Fuck all of this.”

This is astute. The FDA e.g. has issues and Trump's solution is "GET RID OF IT" but having no food & drug safety would be awful. So Dems are forced to defend imperfect institutions & message nuance ("We will improve it by doing X!") and that inevitably moves them into policy wonk & away from vibes.
RFK announcement puts a fine point on something I've been trying to articulate and is a theme of the Trump years. It's something I've wrestled with and that a lot of Dem messaging has gotten wrong. Part of what Trump does is constantly divide the country along the lines of pro-system and anti-system

Oh no, one of of you posted "and you're surprised??" in reply to someone, didn't you?

If you do that, Bluesky crashes and no one's allowed to post for an hour. This is a feature, not a bug.

In my memories today, a trip to the grocery when my kid was 6yo.

E: I want Cheddar Bunnies.
Me: No.
E: I need Cheddar Bunnies!
Me: That's too bad because we are not getting Cheddar Bunnies.
E: I must have some Cheddar Bunnies!
Me: Nope, that's not happening.
E: ...Well, then how about Starbucks?
