I had spotted this feature and I’ve never yet selected it (for obvious reasons). But prompted by spotting this I had to ask. Explicitly of course.
The picture displays the question that was asked of ChatGPT which questions why the phrase skip the step is offered and does it indicate that they’re no longer thinking? This is the reply which explains that the skip this step is referring to the showing my workings out part of the answer that ChatGPT provides

When I was a medical resident in South India in the 1990s, I rarely saw kids with measles. And I did not see much of polio or diphtheria or whooping cough either. None of this was a matter of luck. It was because vaccination coverage in that region of India was high
