My pet peeve with AI assisted writing is having to read content that the author hasn’t even read themselves.

If you can’t put in the effort to read what you supposedly wrote, why should I?
Authors Are Accidentally Leaving AI Prompts In their Novels
‘I’ve rewritten the passage to align more with the J. Bree style’ appeared in the middle of a tense scene with a scaled dragon prince.

I have a newborn and as a result, do not have hands to use computers. It's making me realise just how limiting the accessibility features are on a Mac and how high the bar is to learn how to use them. LLMs with computer use could unlock a new wave of products here. Is anyone working on this?

Is there an MCP server to find MCP servers? A sort of 'google for tools'? If so you could add one MCP to an LLM and it could then search for relevant tools, try them out and then use the right one to complete the task. A bit like rummaging through a toolbox to find the right tool.

2 things can be true:

1. Non-developers "vibe coding" with AI can build some cool stuff, but probably not production-ready SaaS products.

2. Experienced full stackers can be 100x more ambitious and 100x faster to ship high-quality, thoughtfully designed applications, thanks to AI.

I’ve been using the phrase “waiting on tenterhooks” all my adult life but only just now, with George Orwell’s words on dead metaphors ringing in my ears, decided to look it up. Quite interesting

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

Never stop supporting Ukraine defending their homeland against Putin's illegal invasion. Dismayed by events? Two ways to take action:
1. Write to your representatives demanding increased aid and that any future peace deal is just and lasting
2. Donate directly u24.gov.ua

I did an event in IN a few weeks ago where I said that on 1/6/21 Mike Pence saved the country (for now) by being one of very very few who stood by his principles under maximum threat.
Dark Pence is back.

President Zelenskyy has been one of the greatest leaders of our time, guiding Ukraine through the darkest period of its recent history, rising up to Russia’s unwarranted aggression, being an inspiration to the Ukrainian people and ensuring that Ukraine’s voice is heard on the world stage.

Sometimes, it’s the boring things that make software truly great. That’s why we shipped search and sort for your connections list in Shopify Collective. So if you’re scaling to hundreds or thousands of selling partnerships it’s now faster and easier to navigate.

I'm pitting o1 vs distilled Deepseek-R1 this morning running locally to develop a sleep / childcare schedule for the imminent arrival of my 2nd child. So far 1.5 billion parameters is absolutely insufficient to reason through this, which... yeah makes sense. o1 wins today.

Now customers can choose from multiple shipping rates at checkout, with date estimates fetched live from Collective suppliers.

Can someone please make an AI that filters out all the clickbait rage bait and AI slop that recommenders push incessantly? It would be a great service to humanity.

I'm realising life was easier when there was a clear 'best' option for search: Google. Now I have to use mental energy to choose the best AI for tasks. Perplexity for knowledge; ChatGPT for chat; Sonnet for Code. It's all still to play for. Fun times.

Interesting morning AI test. Which AI finds the lowest cost option for a product (Schwinn 800IC)? ChatGPT! Although both it and Gemini correctly found the lowest cost new version, ChatGPT suggested a 2nd hand option from eBay. Perplexity Pro was a big fail. Surprised!

Huge congratulations to the Freetrade team for the exit today. It’s not the unicorn valuation I was hoping for and expecting some day given the quality of the product and the pace of execution. But it’s a win nonetheless. 🤞 the new owners don’t screw it up.

TIL Perplexity has an API that uses their LLM models and does web search too. I’m definitely going to hack with this. V cool.

OpenAI announced o3 that is significantly better than previous systems, according to an independent benchmark org (The Arc Prize) that apparently got access.

Only thing is it’s wildly wildly expensive to run. Like its top end system is around $10k per TASK.
