And i like the idea that users comments would stay on their own PDS - I want to keep johncodes.com basically a static site without really needing server resources.

I'm guessing it'd be relatively simply (make an app view for my blog, integrate the frontend)

Any examples out in the wild of this?

with atproto, how hard would it be to:

1. allow users to log into my blog
2. allow users to make comments to my blog posts
3. maintain moderation (it's my dang site after all!)

I really, REALLY don't want to have to implement auth myself or integrate with something silly like supabase ...

anyways, wouldn't it be really cool if we built MORE gargantuan data centers with BIGGER gpu networks that require ALL the electricity on the grid requiring us to spin up dirty energy plants so we can squeeze 1% more out of transformers??

It's hard to overstate just how off the charts warm the Pacific is right now. The swath of the basin from California to Japan (a HUGE area) from 25N to 60N is ~3F (1.6C) above normal. To put it into math terms that is 6 Sigma/ standard deviations above the mean. More… 1/

fun fact: domain name registrars are known for some REALLY slimy practices like price hiking domains based on "time in cart", search result patterns, user-agent, cookies, etc.

Might be worth trying again in a week or two when their systems restart.
