Resident doctor in South London. Fulham fan.
Surrey get red ball county cricket right - £15 tickets (or free for the evening session), brilliant facilities and a test quality side. There have clear geographical/financial advantages but other counties should take note!
🗣️ Club Chair Oli Slipper and CEO Steve Elworthy lay out the Club's position on the proposed changes to the 2026 men's domestic schedule.

This is a good illustration of how replacing medical generalists with super-specialised (often non-doctor led) services results in large inefficiencies and worse patient outcomes.
Our health and care system is set up to treat single conditions, not reflecting the growing number of people with multiple long-term conditions. In her blog, Cheryl Gowar explores the ways care for multiple conditions could improve and what good would look like for her care.
The Reality Of Living With Multiple Long-Term Conditions | The King's Fund
Cheryl Gowar highlights some of the challenges involved in living with multiple long-term conditions in a health service focused on single conditions

Palace were brilliant today, well deserved. Gives you hope it could be us one day #FFC

I personally don’t believe any manager could have got more out of the squad than Silva has this season. Pivotal summer ahead and, if he stays, he deserves significant backing #FFC

Interesting read. We need 2025 Wandsworth Council to show similar ambition in creating liveable, high quality residences

When asked about ticket prices here, Tony Khan starts talking about the new Riverside facilities. Would be nice if ordinary fans had access to them given we’re footing the bill #FFC

The GMC, the doctor’s regulator, now licences individuals with no medical qualifications as ‘medical professionals’ and refutes any statutory duty to protect patient safety. It fails to uphold its one purpose.
BMA are considering next steps after a disappointing ruling from the High Court in our case against the GMC for blurring the lines between doctors and physician associates.

9 years ago today. We were very plausibly in League 1 if we’d lost this one #FFC

🧵/ To inform the #LengReview, Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine @trishgreenhalgh.bsky.social has just published an extraordinarily important rapid review of the available research on PAs & AAs in the UK.

Its key findings appear to be extremely important (& concerning):

Personally quite excited about Willian coming back. We missed him in those frustrating home games against relegation teams like Southampton and United 🇧🇷 #FFC

NHS England senior leadership has zero credibility. Finger off the pulse (medical pun) in countless areas and, as always, its patients who pay the consequences
The curious case of Sarah and her sinuses, and what it reveals about the lamentable wrong-headedness among the leadership of England's NHS. My piece in this week's @newstatesman.com

NHS England has no idea about GPs
Reform will only happen when the organisation confronts how lamentably wrong-headed it has been.

Replacing regular match-going supporters with one-off tourists isn’t an unintended consequence of the price hikes - it’s exactly the plan #FFC
Fulham's civil war is tarnishing everything this magnificent club once cherished
For the past five years the hunt for suits and suitors has alienated the people who matter most at Craven Cottage - the fans who stood by the club in its darkest days

Chaos at Euston again and across the railways this weekend.

Sorting this mess out needs to be a top-level priority for the Government in 2025 - starting on day one in the New Year.

People are truly fed up with it and it is damaging the economy.

Interesting Silva mentioning wanting more noise from the crowd in his last press conference. An inevitable consequence of pricing out ordinary fans #FFC

I've written about what dying typically looks like - not as a 'pro' or 'anti' AD piece, but in the spirit of confronting a taboo.

We've lost the easy familiarity with the patterns of dying that existed when death typically occurred in people’s own homes.

Let's talk about it 🙏

John Prescott was a politician both behind and ahead of his time. Considered too bluff and old Labour to reach to the very top in the 90s, today his authenticity and class credentials would have been perfect to fight Farage and populism. Labour needs more like him.

Their equivalence between this and the lies of Johnson and Truss shows they still don’t understand the level of public anger towards the prev Tory government
It's one of those stories that inevitably loses momentum because people just want to throw everything around and hope that something more significant sticks. I think "won the wrong national chess competition" is the nadir of this sort of scuttlebutt.
