It would honestly be worse. Buses can't connect to rail, and QL depends on interlining to work, which means you dilute a ton of the benefits that QL brings.

Like faster trip times to Manhattan depends on a train, not a bus. More service to the Rockaways other than the A also depends on a train.

...and O'Hare's access from Jackson.

You can always add tracks, but that makes projects way more expensive. It is just easier to have a through running U line for that reason.

Like, you can choose LaSalle as the end point for both legs. Great for O'Hare, which maximizes their downtown coverage, but horrible for Congress, which only gets two stations.

Even if you split the difference and end trains at Madison, you still cut Congress Branch's access to Clark/Lake...

Capacity and one seat rides

For example, let's take the Blue Line. The Blue Line has a lot of stops in the Loop, where a lot of ppl are going. So choosing which stop to end is inevitably going to give some ppl the short end of the stick.

In NYC, we used to have ridiculous stop spacing.

There used to be a bus stop on both sides of this rail line. What is worse is that is there is no rail station here (or ever).

One of them was removed this year, thank goodness.

Completing the entire Second Ave Subway and the Utica Ave Subway if memory serves me correctly.

and we can maybe extend the PATH to EWR. Garcia was (to my knowledge) the only mayoral candidate in 2021 to propose subway expansion.

One can dream, right?

It does. It removes one of the worst merges in the system, thus making one of the most unreliable stretches on the E/F trains much more reliable.

It also increases one seat ride connections by giving F train riders the tunnel they want (53rd).

If this is the price to do a station rebuild, I better expect an in system transfer or something.

Like pedestrianize State St if the elevators are going to be an issue. That is what the MTA is doing on Livonia Ave for the New Lots Ave elevator on the 3.

*We should do*, my brain for reason can't spot errors until after I post a reply.

We should need to do through running. Start ordering the M8s instead of the M9s while we are at it.

Pleasure working with you all! Let's get through running over the finish line!

Hey, if Cuomo keeps this up, and we might be able to get our DINO senators out of office by him splitting the ever so declining moderate vote and paving the way for AOC, and another lefty to the US Senate.
